As our 6 - 2 win over Roker was our last game of the year, from all the staff and players at Snods Edge FC.

Snods Edge FC vs URC Roker

16th December 2023

 

With some unfinished buisness to attend to in our last meeting with Roker that ended 2-4 we had to make sure the 3 points stayed with us,

 

Fresh from a few weeks off due to the weather the lads were iching to go today,

 

Straight from kick off we pushed on playing some lovely football, training had payed off and we were connecting passes really well,

 

Tom Clarke popped up with a lovely finish to make it 1 - 0 to us early in the first half, with the lads going in for every ball and closing down nicely we managed to nick a second on with a low finish from Jason Bell,

 

A mad 5 mins towards the end of the first half saw Roker pull 2 back thst reminded us of the away fixture at the beginning of the season,

 

Not detured we picked ourselves up and pushed on looking for a 3rd, a perfect opportunity arose on the edge of the box in form of a free kick 

 

Daniel Pyke stepped up and duly deliverd a free kick thst was worthy of goal of the Game, happy to be back in the lead we continued to play some nice football and the reward soon came, with a excellent finish from Andy Wade,

 

Rob O'Neil proved to be a pain for the back line of Roker all game and eventually got his reward with a cool finish to make it 5 - 2,

 

With the game nearing an end Ewan McCabe showed exactly what he is capable of, putting the ball in the back of the net with a perfect header, much to the excitement of Ross Wilson, running on to the pitch to celebrate like a proud dad, (he's not his dad tho)

 

Final Whistle and the lads go home happy with the 3 points in the bag, 

 

100% effort from everyone involved today,
